Grants for U.S. Senior Lecturers, Senior Postdoctoral Researchers, and Junior Postdoctoral Researchers
Objectives | Contribute significantly to advanced studies of mutual interest to the U.S. and Spain by teaching,
preferably at graduate level; conduct research and/or collaborate with
colleagues at Spanish academic and research institutions; or a combination of
both. Activities may include presenting lectures, seminars and workshops as arranged by host institutions or the Spanish Fulbright Commission. |

Forms | Application to be submitted through CIES: http://www.cies.org/program/core-fulbright-us-scholar-program Invitation letter required for most awards (see CIES webpage), indicating the name and position of the academic adviser with whom the scholar will collaborate, and specifying the teaching program and work load or indicating the availability of research resources. For the Flex grant, an invitation letter is required and must indicate:

Grant Duration | Three and a half months for Senior Researchers and Lecturers. For the Flex Senior Research grant: total grant length of four to six months, with one annual stay of two to three months over a maximum period of two years. Five to nine months for Junior Researchers. |
Grant Period | Grants must begin between September 2017 and May 2018. |

Observations | The Fulbright Commission promotes academic and professional affiliations with public and private institutions throughout the country. Host institutions are encouraged to note direct and in-kind contributions (such as facilities) in the letter of invitation. These contributions help maximize the benefits provided by the Fulbright Program and can serve as a sign of the host institution’s commitment to the particular project. |
