41 new grants plus 2 renewals for secondary school teaching assistants in the Region of Madrid. These grants are co-sponsored by the Comunidad de Madrid (Regional Govenrment of Madrid).
| Objectives | Assistant teaching in secondary schools. Assisting of permanent teaching staff in the classroom for up to 16 hours per week, and an additional two hours for planning & coordination meetings. Responsibilities include assistant teaching in English in subjects such as social studies, science and technology, mathematics, art, physical education and English language. Directing conversation groups, in some cases with school staff. Most schools participate actively in Global Classrooms (Model UN); grantees at participating schools train students in proceedings and lead regional debate sessions. |
